Why did you pick the book that you are reading ?  Is it as good as you hoped? Why or why not.

As a reader, our goal is to analyze and to think deeply about what we are reading.  Today, you will be in the role of the Discussion Director.  You need to generate between four and eight questions that inspire thoughtful discussion .  Make sure your questions are not ones that can be answered with a yes or no.  We want them to be open ended. Tomorrow, we will use your questions to respectfully and responsibly discuss your book.

As a thoughtful reader, we must always look for connections.  Today you are going to be the connector.  Your job is to connect the day's reading to another book or story you have read.  You will also connect the reading to a current event, historical event, or something we are studying in any subject area.  It is also okay to connect it to your own life.  Just make sure you have at least 2 connections.  Don't forget to respond to someone else. :)
