Share what you know about the settlement patterns in the US.  Also, how have people adapted to and modified the lane?  What do you notice about the locations of cities?  And how do geographical factors influence the patterns of settlements and the distribution of population?

  1. I noticed that people settled in other's people land. They also made groups. Each group settled in other place.Long ago,in the past there wasn't electronics, cars, toys, and games But,now there is more people and the more people come the more inventions and land are made. Most people settled in the southeast. They mostly settled in the southeast because there was Ellis island over there where people used to check there eyes if there was any disease and also ask them questions about why they came here. What influenced settlements is big land. They wanted big land so,they would grow crops and stuff like that.

  2. I noticed that on the map that the biggest population is in New York because that is where imagrants go, it is called Ellis Island. Another thing that I noticed is that the people from diffrent countries like to live near the people that came from that country. People have adapted to the U.S by learning about the things. They did this by going to Ellis Island. I noticed that in the citices that New York is the biggest because that is where people imagrate. The patternes that are in the land is that people from diffrent countries live close together.

  3. I noticed that people settle in groups of their race.People modified their land by,cutting down trees to build houses back then. And now people are building cities.I notice that, not all but most capitals are in the middle of states. The biggest reason,New York City is the most popular city is because Immagrents came into the U.S in Elis Island. Most people settled by the ocean .Because there's a lot of jobs, like fisher, sailor and ship worker.

  4. 1.I noticed that a lot of settlements were in the west after the westward expansion

  5. What I noticed about types of settlements and patterns is that there are bigger states in the west and their are smaller states in the east. Also, what I know about people adapting and modyfiying their environment is that they build houses and air pollution. The capital cities probably have a lot of jobs or a lot of natural resources. Immigrants moved to Ellis island because it is close to the water, so they could sail back to their homeland quickly if they had any family emergencies or something and it would be easy.

  11. I notice that the states close to mexico speak spanish and I notice that the states close to mexico, there is a boarder.
People adapted so they can get more money and so they can speak other languages.
I notice that the capitails are close to rich places and I notice that the capitails are almost close to the middle of a state.
I notice that in the east the states get smaller and the west the states get bigger and bigger.

  13. I notice the east states are smaller than the west states.People adapted by mostly going to where they race was and language was spoken. When immigrants moved to the united states some became farmers and distributed goods. When most immigrants got to the united states they began their journey in ellis island.Cities are located all around the states.

  14. [1] I noticed that the types of settlements were on the mountains for hunting. Some were were by oceans.
[2] How people adapted to the U.S.[past] They cut down trees and build their houses. Also get to know their land.[Present] Now people pay builders to build their houses.
[3] I noticed the locations of the cities are by water, mountains for hunting, and or by valleys.
[4] Geographical helped people live because we need water and trees. Some a lot of people live by valleys, water or trees.

  15. I noticed that people started to migrate closer to friends and family. A lot of people started off in Ellis Island, New York. A majority of big cities of big cities are on the coasts for natural resources.
When people started to move to America they slowly started to add new inventions such as trains. Inorder to do this they had to change the inciroment completely. We do this today when we make more cities.
Cities were located places where they could find natural resources. Most of the big cities were located near the East and West coast for fish and water.
They moved around the United States for land for different reasons. One of the reasons is for farming because firtile soil is only found in certain places. Another reason would be for jobs or resources.

  16. Usually people group together with people that have the same background or culture. If the place people are settling has really good dirt they will become farmers. But, sometimes they will change the land for example: in a forest they will chop down trees to make an urban city. I noticed that most of the larger cities are in the east where the immigrants would come into america. In very cold places like North and South Dakota very few people live there and in hot places not too many people live there either. But, in warm places with lots of resources is where most people live.

  17. 1.
I noticed that the types of settlements were usually not built on mountains or big hills but on flat land. The patterns of land were mostly flat and also had The Rocky Mountains.

2.People have adapted to the land by being able to know where animals lived and they also changed the land by moving dirt so they could place railroads, houses, and buildings,(past and present)

3.I also have noticed that the locations of most cities are in the west and were just over small sized on a map. Also most of the capitals were in the middle of the cities.

4.Some geographical factors made humans find "flat" land to settle.

  20. [1] What noticed about types of settlements and patterns of land,is that people all around the world come to live in America.
[2]The people have adopted to the country by when getting new land they get used to the area that they stay in it.
[3] what i noticed is that the cities and capitals are very big in population.
[4]the people usually come for land forms and the weather in the U.s.

  25. I noticed African Americans stayed where slavery used to be legal.People have adapted because that's their homes and the inventions that helped people in everyday life. The big cities are all close or near water. The move West was because there was a lot of free land.

  26. [1]I noticed that mexicans lived near mexico, which was their old home country. [2]One way we have adapted is that we tuned farms into cities. [3]I noticed many cities were near the coast because of the resources. [4]They effect where they live because there aren't many cities up north.

  27. I noticed that the New York is still very crowded(including NYC).There were groups of people that are from the same background or have the same culture were around the specific areas. In the past people would adapt by cutting down trees and making railroads. Now people adapt by expanding city's and building more homes. Some people probably live where they do because they most likely feel comfortable such as,if you're a farmer than you would most likely live in a place with lots of land and good weather. If you work in a office than you probably live in a big populated city.
