  4. Have you ever wondered what some of the ways we are connected to Haiti, well I have!
We are connected to Haiti, one of the reasons is that they have technolagy like us so we can comunicate with them at all times whenever we want to.
Another way we are connected to Haiti is that we could have a hurricane like Hurricane Mattthew, and go through what they had to go through while having the same distruction.
One other way we are connected to Haiti is that we have time zones like them. Even though there's might be diffrent then mine and yours, they still have time zones like us.
The last way they are connected to us is by the fifth grade sending toys to Haiti for there Christmas, so that they know that is was us that sent it and they know who they are.

  6. One month we thought of helping Haiti, a small and poor country that has been hit by a category 4 hurricane with the name of Hurricane Matthew.

One moment I thought about it and I thought that we were helping a lot of people and that we were globally connected in many different ways. For example, anywhere in the world would have had severe weather before. I'm sure even were you lived had bad weather before.

We are connected in many different ways and it is nearly impossible to list or name them all. Like many people say,''Even though we are different we still have something in common!''

  7. It all started when we were learning about time zones. This made me connect everyone for two reasons. One our similarities and two our differences.
First of all our similarities. We all have the sun shining down on us at one point, don't we? We also all have day and night. Almost all our world leaders decided to make most of their countries have the same time zones. They probably thought it would better connect their country, but it better connected our world.
Second our differences. We all have different time zones. For example: at midnight here they are eating lunch in China. Even in different parts of a country they have different time zones.
To connect it all! Even with our different time differences, think, we can all LEARN about our time differences. So you see it takes difference to have a similarity.
In conclusion. We are all connected. Even through our differences we are connected.

  8. It is great a great thing when you help people. Everyone around the world is effected by weather. On October 5,2016 a massive hurricane called Mathews. The hurricane was going on side of the coast it hit a small island called Haiti. The small poor island was destroyed the people there lost many things and many family members. This effected me because in Texas it is rare for hurricanes to come but people could be effected around the world the same way as they did.

  9. Hope for Haiti taught me that even though it doesn't seem like it we have plenty of things in common. For example we both have natural disasters. And we both have needs like food, water, and shelter. Also we both have a government and laws.So everyone in the world must have a few things in common no matter where you live.

  10. The moment I realized the world is connected was when we built our houses.
The first reason why the climate house made me realize we're connected,is that every place has weather and climate. We built our houses to fit in a city and I learned that every place has a different climate. One place might have a lot of tornados and another place might have a lot of hurricans.
The other reason why the climate house made me realize we're connected,is that every place is different.Alaska is different from Mexico, some countries are hot and some are cold.A house might be good for one place, but not the another place.
The time I realized the world is connected was when we built our houses.

Hope 4 haiti made me realise how connected we are to the world
we really are it used to take days or week to get haiti but now the technology is good enough to reach half way across the world in about 15 hours.

  13. One day in science my teacher told us to choose a house we want to study and make. She said we had to get partners and do it together.Me and my partner chose Zimbabwae Africa. We made our house out of rock, pebbles, sticks, and metal.I did Zimbabwae becauce it made me feel like if I was in Zimbabwae and just if I was there.I always wanted to go to Africa but I never have.I just finally felt like I was truely at home.

  14. I felt globally connected after I did the Amazon Home project.I felt connected because it made think about how they felt. Also it made me think about how they live there. We have to know that it's not just that one community that we know, but a big huge world out there. When we built the house we had to think about where we put the windows, and what the climate was like. When we made the house it made me feel like I lived there. We also had to think about the way we built the house, and how light or dark it was.We thought about what the weather was like. When we we're done we thought about how the people we're going to go inside of the house.Because it was a tree house we added a ladder.I had to think about all these things just for one house. These are all the reasons I feel globally connected.Don't forget that there is a big huge world, and not just a small community.

  16. The Hope for Haiti project the fifth graders did helped me understand how the whole world is connected and, how we are not the only country in the world. It's good to know that us as kids just changed somebody's life.
For the project we donated some of our belongings to the kids in Haiti. It was not hard because if you just stop and think about all you have and, then you think about all the things that a kid in Haiti has you will imediatly see that you have way more belongins than they will probably ever have. All people have the same values and even though those people in Haiti don't have as much as you do they are still people and they all have the same rights as you and me.
We did this project to give the kids and adults one day of the year where they could have some fun with the goodie bags we made full of supplies and toys for a special Christmas the will never forget. This project helped me under stand that as humans on Earth we must help one another to be a better community and, it also taught me to be thankful for what I have.
This project made me feel good knowing that I just gave a kid a better Christmas. I hope that when they get our delivery that they are just as happy as I was getting it all together.

  17. We connected Haiti with us by hope for haiti when we sent goods etc. and things for christmas. Here are some reasons how we are connected to the world. We are effected by the weather just like Haiti and florida had hurricane matthew. We helped by donating christmas gifts to them.We are themalso connected to the world by technology and transportations such as cars, airplanes, etc.

  19. One day it's day in Texas but in Japan it's night time. In Texas are houses are made to take away the heat of the sun and our roofs are almost flat and a light color. In Canada their houses are made of wood most of the time and their roofs are high so the snow can fall off the roof it's also a dark color. It's not all about how the houses look like or how the houses help in that weather. Another is the way we dress Texas and New york people almost dress the same . Those were just some of the many similar things we . this is when I realized we are globally connected.

  20. The moment I realized we where globally connected was when we did hope for Haiti I realized that we where connected because we where helping someone so far away from the hurricane that they had incountered. That's cool that we can help someone that is so far away. A lot of people have hurricanes and it's kinda good knowing we can help people out.

  21. Did you know that helping is good your heart?
well it turns out it's true!when we were helping haiti recover from a reckless hurricane named Hurricane Matthew,I thought that we were the only ones helping, but now I see that they helped us as well by showing us one of the ways how our world is connected.though we might seem to have more differences than things in common most of the time but we are still connected!
